⚠️ Safety Around Coated Metal
Before cutting, remove paint, oil and coatings from the cut line wherever possible. Galvanised steel releases zinc fumes that can cause metal fume fever, and some old paints contain lead or chromium compounds that should never be inhaled. Use local extraction or work outdoors with the wind at your back, wear a suitable respirator, and keep fire watch for at least thirty minutes after hot work in areas with combustible materials. Cutting containers that held flammable liquids requires a formal hot work permit and proper cleaning and gas testing beforehand.
