Systems are specified with reference to EN 13458, ISO 21029, EIGA Doc 13 for oxygen pipeline and piping systems, ISO 11114 for material compatibility and ADR, suitable for steel, glass and chemical plants.
Oxygen service demands cleanliness discipline. All components in contact with oxygen must be free from oil, grease and combustible dust, and only materials approved for oxygen should be used for seals and hoses. Smoking, naked flames and sparks are forbidden near the tank, and clothing that has been in an oxygen-enriched atmosphere should be aired for at least fifteen minutes before approaching any ignition source.
