📦 Cylinder Care & Return
Every cylinder is identified by serial number, test date and tare weight, which lets us follow its history from fill to return. After use, keep a small positive pressure inside, close the valve and fit the outlet plug so that humid air cannot enter. Return empties promptly, because standing cylinders with a little SO₂ and moisture can corrode from inside.
Cylinder neck threads and valve outlets are examined at each cycle, and any item showing pitting or damage is withdrawn from service for re-testing. Sizes available range from small laboratory bottles to larger process cylinders, and your account manager will advise on which suits your consumption. For safe movement, use a cylinder trolley with a chain, never roll a cylinder, and secure it to a wall bracket when in service.
Good housekeeping extends cylinder life. Keep storage areas dry, remove corroded fittings promptly and avoid stacking cylinders where they can knock together. If a valve leaks, move to a safe position upwind, raise the alarm and contact us; do not attempt to tighten a leaking valve gland without training and suitable protective equipment.
