R-407C vapour pressure at 20 °C is about 11 bar, well below cylinder test pressure, but cylinders must still never be overfilled: liquid expansion in heat can raise pressure rapidly. A dip tube is not normally fitted to service cylinders, so they are inverted or used with a liquid valve when liquid withdrawal is required. Always protect valves with caps during transport and secure vessels upright in vehicles.
Cylinder identification follows a few simple rules. The shoulder carries the manufacturer mark, the serial number, the water capacity, the tare weight and the date of the last periodic test. Refrigerant cylinders for R-407C are usually shown with a light grey or manufacturer-specific body and a hazard label for liquefied non-flammable gas. Never rely on colour alone: read the label, check the UN number and verify the product name before connecting. Where a cylinder has been out of service for a long time, we inspect the thread, the valve seat and the internal surface before returning it to the pool.
