Store cylinders upright and secured in a cool, ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and never let the cylinder temperature exceed 50 °C. Use dedicated hoses and gauges for each refrigerant family, and evacuate the charging line before opening the valve to avoid introducing air. Weigh the charge on a calibrated scale rather than relying on pressure alone, because vapour pressure changes with temperature.
