Pressure reducers differ in how the outlet behaves as the cylinder empties. A single-stage reducer shows a gradual rise in delivery pressure as inlet pressure falls, which is acceptable for torches that are adjusted by eye. A two-stage reducer places a second regulating step in the same body and keeps outlet pressure almost constant until the cylinder is nearly empty. We explain this difference during selection so that analysers and automated equipment receive the stable supply they need. For fixed installations we can add a protective cabinet, a non-return valve and a flashback arrestor so that the complete reducer station meets the safety expectations of insurers and inspectors.
