Compressed Nitrous Oxide from REAL GAZ is held in cylinders at its vapour pressure, where most of the contents are liquid, so one cylinder can store far more gas than an equal volume of ordinary compressed gas.
Withdrawal cools the cylinder, and so flow rate, cylinder temperature and regulator choice all matter for steady performance.

Packaging follows ISO 9809, ADR Class 2.2 with 5.1 subsidiary hazard for oxidising gases and EN 1089-3, for industrial and technical buyers.

The phrase compressed nitrous oxide is slightly misleading, because the gas is actually liquefied by its own pressure at ambient temperature. A cylinder at 20 °C holds vapour at about 50 bar, and the pressure rises steeply if the cylinder warms, so it should never be left in a closed vehicle or near radiators. The critical temperature is 36.4 °C, above which no liquid can exist, and overfilled or overheated cylinders may therefore become dangerous.

Pipework should be stainless steel or copper with compatible seals, protected by a pressure relief device and leak-checked at working pressure.
