Compressed Helium โ inert, lightweight and dependable at 200 bar
Compressed helium from REAL GAZ is the monatomic noble gas delivered in seamless steel or aluminium cylinders filled to 150 or 200 bar, ready for laboratories, workshops and production lines. Helium does not burn, react or corrode, which makes it the safe choice wherever a chemically silent gas is needed.
Grades from 99.996% (4.6) to 99.9999% (6.0) are drawn from purified bulk helium, so moisture, oxygen and hydrocarbon levels stay far below those of ordinary technical gas.

REAL GAZ supplies this product according to ISO 14175, ISO 6142 and related standards, suitable for industrial and laboratory use.
A typical 50-litre cylinder at 200 bar holds roughly 9.5 cubic metres of gas, while 10 and 20-litre sizes suit benchtop instruments and mobile service work. Helium is the second lightest element, with a boiling point near โ269 ยฐC, and its very small atoms diffuse through leaks that other gases miss. For that reason we advise leak-tight stainless fittings and regulators rated for the full cylinder pressure on every installation.
Storage matters as much as purity. Keep cylinders in a dry, shaded and ventilated store, secured with chains or brackets, away from heat sources and from corrosive vapours. Because helium is lighter than air, it collects at ceiling height after a leak, so detectors and vents belong high on the wall. Check the cylinder gauge daily during heavy use, and close the valve fully at the end of every shift to prevent slow losses through the regulator.
๐ญ Where Compressed Helium Is Used
- โ๏ธ Gas chromatography โ helium is the classical carrier gas, giving sharp peaks and fast separations in GC and GC-MS;
- ๐ฌ Leak detection โ mass-spectrometer leak testing of vacuum chambers, refrigeration circuits and sealed components relies on helium tracer gas;
- ๐ฅ Medical imaging support โ cryogenic systems around MRI scanners use helium as a coolant and purge gas under the operator's own protocols;
- ๐ Aerospace and propulsion โ rocket stages and test stands use compressed helium to pressurise propellant tanks and purge lines.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ Consistent purity โ each batch is analysed before filling so the grade on the label matches the gas inside;
- ๐งช Wide cylinder choice โ 10, 20, 40 and 50-litre cylinders and 12-cylinder packs cover bench to plant demand;
- ๐ฏ Correct valve outlets โ cylinders are fitted with DIN 477 or CGA 580 outlets to suit your regulators;
- ๐ Careful handling โ cylinders are cleaned, evacuated and capped to keep contamination out of the valve;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order, stating grade and measured impurities.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- multi-stage purification of the source helium;
- pressure-rated valve and cylinder inspection before filling;
- moisture, oxygen and nitrogen impurity analysis;
- leak testing of valve, neck and burst-disc assemblies.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN ISO 9809 and TPED requirements.
