Welding Gas Argon Shield โ argon-based shielding gas for clean TIG, MIG and MAG welds
Welding Gas Argon Shield is the group of argon-led shielding gases used to keep air, nitrogen and moisture away from the molten weld pool.
REAL GAZ offers pure argon and argon mixtures so that each welder gets the right atmosphere for the metal in hand.
REAL GAZ offers pure argon and argon mixtures so that each welder gets the right atmosphere for the metal in hand.
Pure argon (group I1 in EN ISO 14175) is the standard choice for TIG welding of stainless steel, aluminium and copper alloys. Adding COโ or oxygen produces active mixtures for MAG welding of steel, while helium raises heat input for thick non-ferrous sections. Flow rates of 8 to 15 litres per minute are common, depending on nozzle size and draughts in the workshop.
Setting up correctly saves gas. Position the nozzle close to the work, keep the torch angle consistent and shield the arc area from cross-draughts, which can strip away the gas curtain and cause porosity. Pre-flow and post-flow settings protect the start and finish of the weld, and the tungsten electrode in TIG work. A calibrated flowmeter at the torch gives a better indication of real consumption than a regulator gauge alone. Weld inspectors often notice the difference immediately: brighter seams, fewer pores and less post-weld cleaning when shielding is correct.
REAL GAZ supplies this product according to EN ISO 14175, ISO 9809 cylinder standards and TPED requirements, suitable for industrial welding shops and site work.
๐ญ Where Argon Shield Welding Gases Are Used
- ๐ฅ TIG welding โ high purity argon protects tungsten electrodes and gives a bright, oxide-free seam on stainless steel;
- ๐ฉ MIG on aluminium โ argon prevents oxidation and supports smooth spray transfer on aluminium plate;
- ๐ข Shipbuilding and repair โ argon mixtures are used for hull sections and pipe systems in yards;
- ๐ญ Maintenance workshops โ a single argon cylinder covers repair work on many different metals.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ Clean weld appearance โ effective shielding reduces discolouration, porosity and rework;
- ๐งช Low moisture content โ dry gas lowers the risk of hydrogen cracking and gas pores;
- ๐ฏ Choice of grades โ pure argon and mixtures are available for different metals and processes;
- ๐ Dependable availability โ regular refills and exchange cylinders keep production moving;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- cryogenic air separation and purification;
- moisture and oxygen analysis;
- controlled filling to rated pressure;
- valve and cylinder inspection before dispatch.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
