🔧 Handling & Technical Notes
Acetylene and propane need different injector and tip sizes, so always confirm the tip chart before changing fuel. Do not run acetylene above 1.5 bar. Keep cylinders upright and secured, away from ignition sources, and keep oxygen and fuel cylinders separated in storage by at least the distance set by local rules.
Propane produces a hotter outer cone and less intense inner cone than acetylene, so cuts start more slowly but the heat spreads across thick sections well. Many workshops use acetylene for piercing and thin work and propane for long cuts. Having both gases available from one supplier, with the correct regulators, lets the operator pick the best fuel for each job.
