For planning purposes, remember that outlet pressure on a single stage regulator is set while the cylinder is full and tends to creep upward slightly as inlet pressure drops. Operators who cut thick plate often keep a note of their preferred setting and verify it again after the first quarter of the cylinder has been used. Typical outlet gauges for cutting duty read up to about 10 bar, and the regulator should always be chosen with a working pressure comfortably inside that range. When the regulator is no longer needed at a station, close the cylinder valve, bleed the line, back out the adjuster fully and cap the connection.
