Design follows ISO 2503 and the shielding gas groups of EN ISO 14175, with outlets compatible with EN 560 hose connectors, for industrial and workshop welding.
The effect is called supply pressure effect: when cylinder pressure falls from 200 bar to 20 bar, a single stage regulator may deliver a slightly higher outlet pressure than at the start. For a flowmeter-type unit this means the ball drifts upward and should be reset. For a typical one-hour welding session on a 10 or 20 litre cylinder the drift is small, and many operators never notice it. For long unattended runs it becomes significant and a two stage regulator is better. Check the hose and torch connections each shift, because a worn hose or loose clamp wastes more shielding gas than any regulator error. A quick soap-solution test takes seconds and prevents costly losses.
