SF₆ Gas for Electrical Equipment — protecting electrical networks with a proven dielectric
SF₆ Gas for Electrical Equipment from REAL GAZ is selected to give switchgear its insulation and arc-quenching performance across years of service.
At a given pressure its dielectric strength is about 2.5 times that of air, and the gas recovers rapidly after an arc, allowing breakers to interrupt very high fault currents.
Our gas follows IEC 60376 for new SF₆, IEC 60480 for reuse of gas and IEC 62271 for switchgear, suitable for utility and OEM customers.

🏭 Where SF₆ Is Used
  • ⚡ High-voltage GIS — entire substations are enclosed in gas-insulated modules that fit into urban sites;
  • 🔌 Live-tank and dead-tank breakers — SF₆ interrupts fault currents in transmission networks;
  • 🏢 Medium-voltage switchgear — secondary distribution units use small gas volumes for compact, maintenance-light design;
  • 🌬️ Wind farms — offshore and onshore turbines often have SF₆ switchgear because of its small size and tolerance of humid air.

💡 Why Choose REAL GAZ
  • ✅ Moisture control — low water content protects against corrosive by-products and partial discharge;
  • 🧪 Gas quality testing — incoming gas can be compared with limits for purity, mineral oil and acidity;
  • 🎯 Service support — we can supply recovery units, hoses and dew point instruments for field engineers;
  • 🔒 Environmental care — because SF₆ has a global warming potential about 23,500 times that of CO₂, we promote leak monitoring and recycling;
  • 📄 Certificate of Analysis (CoA) — supplied with every order.

🔬 Quality Control & Safety
  • multi-stage purification and drying;
  • dew point and impurity analysis;
  • precise weight filling;
  • leak testing and pressure integrity checks.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.

📦 Handling & Storage of SF₆
Gas compartments should be filled only after evacuation to a deep vacuum and a hold test, so that air and moisture are removed. Fill to the nameplate pressure, corrected for temperature, then check dew point after twenty-four hours. Density monitors and alarms should be tested regularly. During maintenance of opened compartments, recover the gas, ventilate the area, and keep a log of quantities recovered, stored and refilled so that your annual emissions report is complete and accurate.

⚙️ Trusted Gas Solutions
REAL GAZ provides SF₆ Gas for Electrical Equipment to utilities, contractors and manufacturers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA, with documents ready for your quality system. Our team can discuss gas density monitoring, alarm and lock-out settings and top-up quantities with your protection engineers.
Typical applications cover voltage levels from 12 kV up to 420 kV, and we can support both first fills for new bays and routine top-ups for ageing installations.
Because network outages are expensive, we plan deliveries around your maintenance calendar and can hold a reserve of cylinders so that an unexpected leak does not leave a bay out of service.
