Liquid R-134a is stored in the cylinder with a vapour space above it, and the fill ratio is limited so that the liquid cannot fill the cylinder as temperature rises. Never refill a cylinder yourself. Always transport cylinders upright with the valve cap fitted, secured against rolling, and keep the outlet protected from dirt. Report any damaged thread or dented shell before use.
Requalification is a quiet but important part of cylinder supply. Steel cylinders are visually inspected and pressure tested at defined intervals, and the stamped test date tells every user whether a cylinder may legally be filled. Before refilling, we check the thread, the valve seat, the foot ring and the shell for corrosion or dents, then evacuate the cylinder to remove air and moisture.
