Precision work needs careful cylinder handling. Allow a cylinder to equilibrate to room temperature before use, because composition near the liquid surface can differ slightly in cold conditions. Use a regulator with stainless steel diaphragm and purge the connection several times before sampling, which removes trapped air and moisture. Record the cylinder number, date of first use and remaining pressure, and replace cylinders when they reach the minimum pressure stated on the certificate, since uncertainty may increase as the contents are used. Where regulators or auditors review your measurements, keep the certificate, the pressure log and the calibration records together. If a cylinder falls outside its stated validity, we can supply a replacement quickly, so that your measurement programme continues without gaps in traceability.
