At 6.0 grade, hydrogen reaches 99.9999% with moisture typically below 0.5 ppm. Stainless steel regulators with metal diaphragms and electropolished tubing are recommended downstream, because soft seals and plastic lines can release moisture and hydrocarbons back into the stream.
Good results depend on the whole gas path, not only the cylinder. We recommend two-stage stainless regulators with metal diaphragms, bakeable or electropolished tubing, and a purge routine of several pressurise and vent cycles after every cylinder change. Where required, an inline getter or molecular sieve trap can lower oxygen and water further, and a dedicated shut-off valve near the instrument limits the dead volume that traps air during connection.
