Regulators for oxygen must never be swapped with those for fuel gases or inert gases, because seals, lubricants and thread directions differ. Oxygen fittings use a right-hand thread, while fuel gas fittings use a left-hand thread with a groove. Keep protective caps on until the moment of fitting, and store spare units in a clean, dry cabinet.
Daily checks take only a minute: inspect the gauges for cracks, look at the inlet nut for damage, confirm that the adjusting knob turns freely and apply leak-test solution to the connection after fitting. If a regulator shows a creeping outlet pressure, a sticking needle or a hissing noise, remove it from service and contact our technicians.
