Nitrogen Control Regulator โ precise control for automated nitrogen systems
A nitrogen control regulator is designed for repeatable outlet pressure over a wide range of flows, often as part of a larger automated gas panel.
REAL GAZ supplies precision and pilot-operated models that respond smoothly to changes in inlet pressure, keeping the downstream process stable while cylinders are exchanged.
REAL GAZ supplies precision and pilot-operated models that respond smoothly to changes in inlet pressure, keeping the downstream process stable while cylinders are exchanged.
Precision units are assessed against EN ISO 2503 performance criteria, and panel assemblies follow ISO 7396 piping principles and EN ISO 14175 purity practice where relevant.
๐ญ Where Nitrogen Control Regulators Are Used
- โ๏ธ Semiconductor tools โ process chambers need low-drift inert gas supply during long recipes;
- ๐ฌ Analytical instruments โ ICP-MS and LC-MS nebuliser and collision gas lines use fine control;
- ๐ฅ 3D metal printing โ build chambers are flooded with nitrogen and maintained at a set overpressure;
- ๐ Test rigs โ automated test stands use remote-adjusted regulators to follow a pressure profile.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ Low droop โ outlet pressure stays close to the set point as flow rises;
- ๐งช Low supply effect โ changes in inlet pressure have little effect on the outlet;
- ๐ฏ Panel ready โ port options and mounting patterns suit gas panels;
- ๐ Clean materials โ stainless steel wetted parts with surface finishes for high-purity service.
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- pressure response is recorded during testing;
- wetted parts are cleaned and bagged;
- internal leak rate is measured with helium or nitrogen;
- outlet gauges are calibrated.
Control quality depends on three characteristics: droop, lock-up and supply-pressure effect. Droop is the fall in outlet pressure as flow rises, lock-up is the pressure rise when flow stops, and supply-pressure effect is the change in outlet pressure as the cylinder empties. A good control regulator keeps all three small. Pilot-operated and dome-loaded models excel at high flow, while precision two-stage regulators are better at very low flows. We can supply data sheets showing flow curves, so that you can compare models at your actual operating point rather than relying on the catalogue headline. Where a process must never lose gas, a duplex changeover with two regulators removes the risk of an empty cylinder.
For automation, the choice between a manually set and a remotely controlled regulator depends on how often the set point must change. A manual unit with a lockable knob is cheaper and prevents unwanted adjustment, while electropneumatic controllers allow programmed pressure.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
