LIQUID HELIUM CYLINDER โ€” insulated vessels designed for 4.2 K helium
A liquid helium cylinder, more precisely a transportable dewar, is a multi-layer insulated vessel that keeps helium liquid at 4.2 K for as long as possible. REAL GAZ provides these containers in capacities from about 60 to 250 litres, usually with a liquid nitrogen-cooled shield or high-performance super-insulation to cut boil-off.
Because helium has a very low latent heat, vessel quality directly affects how much product reaches your cryostat.
Vessels are built and inspected to ISO 21029 and EN 1251, with relief devices to ISO 4126 practice, for industrial and laboratory cryogenic service.

๐Ÿญ Where Liquid Helium Cylinders Are Used
  • ๐Ÿฅ Magnet servicing โ€” service engineers use dewars to top up or refill superconducting MRI magnets;
  • ๐Ÿ”ฌ University cryogenics โ€” research groups transfer helium into cryostats for low-temperature experiments;
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Vacuum leak checking โ€” helium dewars supply liquid for cold traps on leak-detection and mass-spectrometer systems;
  • ๐ŸŒŒ Instrument commissioning โ€” new detectors and cryocoolers are tested with liquid helium before installation.

๐Ÿ’ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
  • โœ… Low boil-off design โ€” high-quality insulation retains more liquid during transport and storage;
  • ๐Ÿงช Clean containers โ€” dewars are purged and checked to avoid ice plugs from air ingress;
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Transfer fittings โ€” siphons, couplings and pressurising kits can be supplied with the vessel;
  • ๐Ÿ”’ Regular inspection โ€” vacuum level and relief valves are tested before each dispatch;
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ€” supplied with each filled dewar, stating helium purity and lot.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Quality Control & Safety
  • vacuum and insulation performance testing;
  • relief valve verification;
  • purging and impurity checks before filling;
  • leak testing of necks and fittings.
Dewars travel under ADR / UN 1963, must stay upright and vented, and users should wear cryogenic gloves and face protection during transfer.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Practical Notes on Liquid Helium Cylinders
Because the latent heat of helium is so low, a dewar can lose a noticeable fraction of its contents in a few weeks, so we aim to deliver filled vessels close to the date of use. Keep the neck valve closed except during transfer, never plug the vent with an unapproved fitting, and keep the vessel in a shaded, ventilated space away from heat. Leave an unused dewar warm and purged only after consulting us, and always return empties promptly so they can be inspected, evacuated and refilled.

โš™๏ธ Trusted Gas Solutions
REAL GAZ supplies the liquid helium cylinder and dewar range for hospitals, laboratories and industrial users in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA. We plan collection and return of empties, advise on safe transfer practice and keep service records for each vessel. Tell us your cryostat volume and we will recommend an appropriate dewar size.
