Laboratory SFβ Gas Cylinder β compact cylinders for bench-top use
A Laboratory SFβ Gas Cylinder from REAL GAZ is selected for convenience: lighter vessels, lower gas inventory and valve outlets that connect easily to laboratory regulators. Sulfur hexafluoride is dense and inert, which suits many gas discharge and tracer experiments.
Each cylinder is labelled with product name, UN number, lot and fill date.

REAL GAZ supplies this product according to ISO 9809, IEC 60376 and ISO 17025 practice, suitable for laboratory and pilot industrial use.
π Where a Laboratory SFβ Cylinder Is Used
- β‘ High-voltage laboratories β small chambers for studying breakdown and partial discharge;
- π¬οΈ Containment testing β tracer release in fume cupboards, biosafety cabinets and cleanrooms;
- π Leak detection training β demonstration of sniffers and heliumβSFβ comparisons;
- π§ͺ Materials research β assessment of seal and polymer compatibility with the insulating gas.
π‘ Why Choose REAL GAZ for Lab Cylinders
- β Manageable size β easy to move, secure and store within gas cabinets;
- π§ͺ Reliable analysis β composition data accompany the cylinder;
- π― Regulator selection β stainless regulators with PTFE-compatible seats are offered;
- π Exchange service β empty cylinders are collected and replaced on schedule;
- π Certificate of Analysis (CoA) β supplied with every order
π¬ Quality Control & Safety
- cleaning and drying of each vessel;;
- analysis of the filled product;;
- weighing and label verification;;
- inspection of valves and safety caps.
Install an oxygen monitor in rooms where several cylinders are stored, and keep cylinders chained upright.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
π¦ Setting Up a Bench
A small cylinder still deserves a proper installation. Mount it on a stable bracket, connect a single-stage regulator with a suitable outlet thread, leak-check the joints using an electronic sniffer or approved detection fluid, and write the contents on the bench log. When the experiment is finished, close the valve and vent the line to a safe location, never into an enclosed room.
- use a regulator dedicated to SFβ;
- avoid contaminated fittings in ultra-clean work;
- label lines clearly to prevent mix-ups;
- return the cylinder when it falls below the working pressure you set.
Many laboratories prefer to order together. Along with the cylinder we can supply oxygen monitors, regulators, tubing, leak detection fluid and warning labels, so that the first experiment starts with a safe, complete installation and a clear record of what was supplied. Please tell us your bench layout and expected monthly use; we will then recommend cylinder size, fittings and a sensible exchange interval.
