Cylinders follow ISO 21029, EN 1251 for cryogenic vessels, TPED and ADR transport rules, suitable for research, clinical support and quality-control laboratories.
Cylinder handling is straightforward once the valves are understood. The liquid valve dispenses cold liquid, the gas-use valve draws vapour through the internal vaporiser, and the vent valve relieves pressure when the vessel is being filled or held. Typical capacities run from about 160 to 230 litres of liquid, with working pressures of around 1.5 to 22 bar depending on the model. Always move the cylinder with its castors and never lay it on its side. Spare cylinders can be held on site, so that a swap takes only a few minutes and the instrument or bench in question remains in use throughout the working day.
