Laboratory Liquid Helium Cylinder โ ultra-cold helium for research and instrumentation
Laboratory Liquid Helium Cylinder supply from REAL GAZ gives research teams a dependable source of helium at about 4.2 K (โ269 ยฐC), held in vacuum-insulated cryogenic vessels designed for repeated transfer.
Each fill is drawn from high purity helium, typically Grade 5.0 or better, so superconducting magnets, detectors and cryostats receive a coolant that will not freeze out or contaminate sensitive surfaces.

REAL GAZ supplies liquid helium vessels in line with EN 13458, ISO 21029 and ISO 21010 for cryogenic equipment, supported by ISO 17025 analytical practice for research and university laboratories.
๐ญ Where Liquid Helium Is Used
- ๐งฒ NMR and MRI magnets โ topping up superconducting magnets so field stability is preserved between scheduled refills;
- ๐ฌ Low-temperature physics โ cooling cryostats, dilution refrigerators and sample stages used in superconductivity and quantum experiments;
- ๐ฐ๏ธ Detector cooling โ keeping infrared sensors, SQUID magnetometers and particle detectors at stable cryogenic temperatures;
- ๐งช Leak detection and analysis โ supporting helium mass-spectrometer work where the lowest background impurity levels matter.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- ๐ง Insulated vessels โ low-loss transfer containers help reduce boil-off during handling and transit between site and laboratory;
- ๐งช Purity you can trace โ each batch is analysed for oxygen, nitrogen, moisture and hydrocarbons before release;
- ๐ฏ Right size for your cryostat โ vessel capacities and transfer fittings are matched to your equipment, so fewer losses occur during filling;
- ๐ Safe transfer practice โ pressure-relief devices and clear handling guidance protect operators working with extremely cold liquids;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฆ Handling & Supply Notes
Liquid helium is usually transferred from a storage vessel to the cryostat through a vacuum-jacketed transfer line, and a short pre-cooling stage with cold gas greatly reduces the amount of liquid lost. Typical vessel capacities run from 30 to 100 litres for laboratory use, and each carries a pressure-relief valve and a level indicator. Store vessels upright in a ventilated room with oxygen monitoring, because escaping helium displaces air. Empty vessels should be returned with a small residual pressure so that air and moisture cannot enter and freeze inside the neck tube. Helium is a finite resource, so we encourage recovery where possible: capturing boil-off gas in a recovery line and returning it for repurification lowers consumption noticeably. Our advisers can review your recovery piping, gas bags and compressor arrangements.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- multi-stage helium purification and liquefaction;
- vacuum-integrity and insulation checks on every vessel;
- oxygen, moisture and hydrocarbon impurity analysis;
- relief valve inspection and pressure integrity testing.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
โ๏ธ Trusted Gas Solutions
For REAL GAZ customers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA, a laboratory liquid helium cylinder is more than a container: it is a managed cryogenic supply with documentation and technical advice. Our team helps you plan refill intervals, choose suitable transfer lines and understand safe ventilation in enclosed rooms, because liquid helium expands roughly 750 times on evaporation.
REAL GAZ โ keeping your research cold, clean and uninterrupted.
