Laboratory Dry Ice Cylinder — liquid CO₂ in compact cylinders for lab equipment
A laboratory dry ice cylinder is a compact CO₂ cylinder, often 10 or 20 litres, that supplies liquid or gaseous carbon dioxide to benchtop dry ice makers and cooling devices.
REAL GAZ selects the right outlet, siphon option and purity for your instrument.
REAL GAZ selects the right outlet, siphon option and purity for your instrument.
Cylinders conform to ISO 9809, EN 1964 and TPED, with purity data sheets, suitable for laboratory and clinical use.
Check the regulator is rated for CO₂ and avoid long unsupported hoses, because a rapid expansion can cause freezing and blockages. Cylinders should be chained upright, kept away from heat and stored in ventilated areas, preferably with a CO₂ monitor in small rooms.
🏭 Where Laboratory CO₂ Cylinders Are Used
- ⚙️ In-lab dry ice makers — snow from liquid CO₂ is pressed to pellets for immediate bath use;
- 🔬 Cell culture incubators — CO₂ at 5 % holds pH in culture media;
- 🏥 Cryostat cooling — liquid CO₂ boost cooling assists microtomes;
- 🚀 Supercritical extraction — CO₂ cylinders feed small extraction systems.

⚙️ Trusted Gas Solutions
REAL GAZ supplies each laboratory dry ice cylinder to universities and clinical labs in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA.
Order planning is easier with a simple record: note the cylinder number, date connected and approximate daily consumption, and tell us your usage so we can schedule exchanges. Siphon cylinders should not be used for gas-phase applications such as incubators unless a vaporiser is fitted, so we confirm the correct cylinder type with you before dispatch.
Selection starts with the application. Dry ice makers want liquid, so they need a cylinder with a dip tube; incubators want gas, so they need a standard cylinder with a regulator. Laboratories sometimes use both, in which case we supply two cylinder types and label them accordingly. We also provide food grade or higher purity CO₂ where analytical sensitivity requires it, with a Certificate of Analysis that states water, oil and hydrocarbon content for the specific lot.
