📦 Handling & Storage of Laboratory Dewar Flasks

Place flasks in a drip tray on a stable bench, away from walkways.
Never fill a warm flask rapidly; pour in stages to limit thermal shock.
Keep the laboratory ventilated, because boiling nitrogen reduces oxygen.
Choose metal flasks for rough handling and glass flasks where you need to see the liquid level, always with a protective sleeve.
Pre-cool a new flask with a small amount of liquid before filling it fully, to prevent thermal shock.
Keep a spill kit, face shield and insulated gloves near the bench where Dewars are used.
