Outlet ranges for jet duty are low, often 0 to 1.5 bar or 0 to 4 bar, because burners are designed for gentle pressures and the gauge must resolve small changes. Propane, butane, natural gas, acetylene and hydrogen each need regulators with the correct thread handedness and seat material, so the gas must be stated when ordering. Acetylene regulators additionally have a maximum delivery pressure of 1.5 bar, and must never be used with copper-rich fittings. Where several jets are fed from one cylinder, a manifold with individual needle valves lets each burner be trimmed independently without disturbing the others.
