📦 Handling & Supply Notes
A 33 kg propane cylinder can normally deliver only a limited vapour flow at low ambient temperatures, because the liquid cools as it boils. For heavy furnace loads we therefore suggest manifolds of several cylinders or an electric vaporiser to maintain flow. Propane is odorised with ethyl mercaptan for leak detection, and it is heavier than air, so it collects in pits and drains. Install gas detectors close to floor level and keep cylinders outdoors or in dedicated, well-ventilated cages away from drains, cellar openings and ignition sources. Seasonal planning also helps. Winter demand for heating peaks just when vapour flow is weakest, so we encourage customers to confirm cylinder numbers in autumn. Keep a log of weekly consumption to see trends, and contact us if the flame becomes yellow or unstable, since this may indicate regulator trouble.
