Components are selected under EN ISO 2503 for pressure regulators, EN ISO 7291 for manifold regulators, EN ISO 14175 for shielding gases and EN 1089-3 for identification.
The rack is sized from the plant's consumption data. A shop with ten welding stations drawing 15 litres per minute each needs a different header, regulator capacity and cylinder count than a packaging line that draws a steady flow of nitrogen. We calculate the pressure drop along the pipework, choose a line pressure that matches the end equipment and recommend a safe location, usually outside the production hall or in a ventilated gas room. Duty and standby banks are connected through a changeover regulator, with a pressure switch or gauge that tells the operator when the duty bank is nearly empty. Pipework is stainless steel, copper or aluminium according to purity and compatibility, and stations are fitted with isolation valves and flashback protection where flammable gases are present.
