At high draw-off, the sudden expansion of CO₂ can form dry ice in the regulator and block the seat. Heated regulators and generous orifices prevent this. For plants consuming several cylinders per shift, we also recommend manifolds with automatic changeover, so production continues without a manual swap.
Design guidance includes EN ISO 2503 and EN 13480 for piping, with cylinders to ISO 9809 and TPED, for factory and process use.

A plant using several cubic metres per hour will need either a cylinder pack of twelve or sixteen bottles or a bulk tank, and a heated regulator on the pack outlet. Pipework should be sized to avoid excessive pressure drop, with relief protection on any section that could trap liquid CO₂ between closed valves. Regular inspection of gauges, seats and hoses belongs in the maintenance plan, and replacement schedules should reflect hours of use.
