Grades are specified in line with ISO 2046 principles, handled under EN 12041 good practice for valves, and documented to ISO 17025, for production and research customers.
Choosing between grades saves money without risking quality. Combustion enrichment, flame cutting and wastewater treatment rarely need more than industrial purity, and the extra cost of research grades brings no benefit there. Laboratory work, by contrast, can be affected by traces of hydrocarbons, moisture or carbon dioxide, which shift detector baselines or contaminate trace analyses. We discuss your method, its tolerance and the instrument manufacturer's gas specification before recommending a grade.
