Industrial and Laboratory CO โ one carbon monoxide supply for plant and laboratory
Industrial and Laboratory CO from REAL GAZ covers two very different jobs with one supplier: bulk-style process carbon monoxide for plants, and carefully certified CO for analytical benches. Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless, toxic and flammable gas, so every cylinder is filled, labelled and documented with that in mind.
We offer technical grades around 99% and higher grades up to 99.97% (3.7) and beyond, with impurity data stated for hydrogen, methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and moisture.
We offer technical grades around 99% and higher grades up to 99.97% (3.7) and beyond, with impurity data stated for hydrogen, methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and moisture.
REAL GAZ prepares this range with reference to ISO 6142 for gravimetric preparation, ISO 14912 for traceability of gas mixtures and ISO 9809 for cylinder design, suitable for plant and bench use.
Because the same molecule is used so differently, we ask a few simple questions when you enquire: the target purity, the allowable level of hydrogen and moisture, the flow rate and the number of cylinders you will connect. That lets us match a grade to the real duty instead of over-specifying, and it keeps the supply plan realistic for both a production line and a small instrument.
Storage differs between the two uses. A plant normally keeps full and empty cylinders in a separated, signed gas store with mechanical ventilation, while a laboratory keeps one or two units in a ventilated cabinet beside a detector. In both cases carbon monoxide must be kept apart from oxidising gases such as oxygen, and cylinders must be restrained to a wall or rack at all times.
๐ญ Where Industrial and Laboratory Carbon Monoxide Is Used
- โ๏ธ Chemical synthesis โ carbon monoxide is a building block for phosgene, acetic acid and formate chemistry, where feed purity affects catalyst life;
- ๐ฌ Reducing atmospheres โ metal heat treatment and sintering furnaces use CO as a reducing component in controlled gas blends;
- ๐ฅ Gas analysis โ analytical labs use CO to prepare calibration standards for exhaust, flue and indoor air monitoring instruments;
- ๐ Research โ catalysis and surface science groups use higher grades for adsorption studies and reactor feeds.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ One partner, two grades โ you can buy plant-scale and laboratory-scale carbon monoxide together, with consistent labelling and paperwork;
- ๐งช Stated impurity profile โ the specification lists the minor components that matter to catalysts and detectors;
- ๐ฏ Right-sized cylinders โ from small laboratory bottles to larger 40 and 50 litre steel cylinders for continuous duty;
- ๐ Safety information included โ every delivery carries the safety data sheet and clear guidance on ventilation and CO detection;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- cleaning and drying of cylinders before every fill;
- gravimetric weighing of each charge;
- analysis of CO purity and trace moisture;
- valve outlet and leak checks before release.
Handle carbon monoxide only in ventilated areas with personal CO detectors, and store cylinders upright, secured and away from heat.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
