Hydrogen for Fuel and Industry โ clean energy carrier and process gas
Hydrogen for Fuel and Industry from REAL GAZ covers the full range of Hโ duties, from powering fuel cell stacks to protecting metal surfaces in annealing furnaces.
Every cylinder is filled with hydrogen of defined purity, from 99.95% technical grade up to 99.9999% (6.0) for demanding electronics and research work.
Every cylinder is filled with hydrogen of defined purity, from 99.95% technical grade up to 99.9999% (6.0) for demanding electronics and research work.
Fuel-quality hydrogen is specified against ISO 14687, while cylinders follow ISO 9809, EN ISO 11114 material compatibility rules and the TPED directive.
Hydrogen is the lightest molecule and the most energetic by mass, which is why it suits both energy and process roles. It also burns across a very wide range in air, roughly 4% to 75% by volume, so correct fittings, ventilation and left-hand threaded valve outlets are essential from the first connection.
Planning a hydrogen supply starts with three numbers: required purity, peak flow in cubic metres per hour and total monthly volume. With those we can say whether single cylinders, a 12-cylinder pack or a larger bundle is the economical route. Fuel cell users should also tell us their stack manufacturer's impurity limits for carbon monoxide, sulfur compounds and ammonia, so that the correct grade and any point-of-use purifier can be proposed before the first order is placed. Typical industrial users include steel strip lines, glass makers, electronics plants and chemical producers, while energy users range from university research groups to companies testing electrolysers and stacks. Each group has different tolerance for impurities, which is why we ask about the end use before recommending a cylinder.
๐ญ Where Hydrogen Is Used
- โ๏ธ Fuel cell testing โ PEM stack developers and backup power integrators draw Hโ at controlled purity to avoid catalyst poisoning;
- ๐ฌ Heat treatment โ bright annealing and sintering furnaces use hydrogen atmospheres to remove surface oxides from steel and copper;
- ๐ญ Float glass and electronics โ small Hโ additions to nitrogen protect the tin bath and support wafer processing;
- ๐ Chemical synthesis โ hydrogenation of oils, intermediates and specialty chemicals relies on dry, consistent feed gas.
