Purity matters because moisture forms acids with POE oil and non-condensable gases raise head pressure. Distributors should keep cylinders upright and sealed, rotate stock by lot number and avoid decanting between cylinders in the open. Zeotropic blends must never be transferred from the vapour phase, as the lighter components leave first and the remaining composition shifts away from specification.
