Regulators are cleaned to EN ISO 15001 practice, CO₂ quality is documented with reference to ISO 17025 testing, and connections are CGA 320 or DIN 477, for laboratory and process use.
Grade 5.0 carbon dioxide means a minimum purity of 99.999 percent, which leaves very little room for contamination. A single exposure of the regulator to humid air can introduce more water than the gas specification allows, so we advise purging with dry nitrogen or with the CO₂ itself before use. For supercritical applications the inlet is often a liquid-draw dip tube cylinder, and a heated regulator or a pre-heater avoids pressure fluctuations caused by cooling. Keep a dedicated regulator for CO₂ and do not exchange it with other gases, since residues from previous gases can compromise the next batch of analytical work.
