Never use equipment designed for R-22 with R-410A: hoses, gauges and recovery machines must carry a rating suitable for the higher pressures stated by the manufacturer. Protect cylinders from heat; liquid-filled vessels warm quickly and can lift relief devices. Wear safety glasses and gloves, and keep the plant room ventilated since escaping gas displaces oxygen and can cause asphyxiation at high concentrations.
System design for R-410A has to respect its pressures: copper tube of an appropriate wall thickness, brazed joints tested with dry nitrogen to the stated test pressure, and components certified for the refrigerant. Typical design pressures for modern R-410A equipment are around 4.2 MPa on the high side, which is why pressure switches and safety valves are specified accordingly. Hot weather increases condensing pressure further, so keep condensers clean and fans functioning to prevent trips. In case of overpressure alarms, stop the plant, ventilate the area, and call a qualified engineer.
