A High Pressure Ar-CO₂ Gas Cylinder is charged to 200 bar or, in suitable ratings, 300 bar, so that a given cylinder holds more usable gas and needs fewer changeovers.

Cylinders comply with ISO 9809-1, are approved under TPED and fitted with valves to ISO 10297 for high-pressure service.
High pressure does not change the composition of the mixture, but it does call for extra care in selection of equipment. Regulators must be rated for the full cylinder pressure, hoses and fittings must carry the right working pressure markings, and valves should be opened slowly to avoid heating from rapid compression. The mixture is filled in stages so that temperature rise does not drive off carbon dioxide or distort the pressure reading, and the cylinder is left to settle before the final pressure is set and checked.
Typical high pressure formats include 50-litre cylinders at 200 bar, around 10 cubic metres of gas, and bundles of twelve such cylinders for continuous production. Customers who transport cylinders themselves should keep them upright, secured and ventilated. Please note that regulators designed for 150 bar must not be fitted to cylinders charged to 200 bar or above; if you are unsure, send us the regulator model and we will check compatibility.
