Fuel Flashback โ„–2 โ€” Fuel Gas Flashback Devices for safe gas work
Fuel Flashback โ„–2 describes the second series of fuel-gas-side protective devices that REAL GAZ supplies for lines carrying acetylene, propane, natural gas or hydrogen.
They are designed to stop a flame travelling backwards through the hose after a burner or torch malfunction, and to close the line if the gas reverses direction.
Selection is guided by ISO 5175-1 and ISO 14114 for acetylene equipment, covering burner and torch installations in workshops, laboratories and light industry.

๐Ÿญ Where Fuel Gas Flashback Devices Are Used
  • โš™๏ธ Propane heating torches โ€” protects roofing and pipeline preheat burners from back-ignition caused by wind or a blocked nozzle;
  • ๐Ÿ”ฌ Laboratory burners โ€” adds a simple safeguard to bench gas lines in teaching labs, where inexperienced users handle open flames;
  • ๐Ÿฅ Glass working โ€” suits hydrogen and propane lamps at small furnace stations, where flame speed is high;
  • ๐Ÿš€ Food processing ovens โ€” protects auxiliary burner lines exposed to draughts and pressure surges.

๐Ÿ’ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
  • โœ… Fuel-gas thread forms โ€” left-hand threads prevent connection to oxygen lines and reduce wrong-gas errors;
  • ๐Ÿงช Material compatibility โ€” copper content is controlled for acetylene service to avoid unstable compounds;
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Compact size โ€” fits into tight torch handles and hose bundles without adding weight;
  • ๐Ÿ”’ Positive closing โ€” the integral valve shuts decisively on reverse flow;
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ€” supplied with every order.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Fitting & Care Notes
Acetylene is unstable above 1.5 bar, so protective devices must be used with correctly set regulators. Hydrogen needs devices compatible with its wide flammability range and very fast flame speed. Always confirm gas type and working pressure before choosing a flashback device, and write the installation date on the unit so that replacement can be planned in your maintenance calendar.
Different fuel gases behave differently. Propane and butane have lower flame speeds, while hydrogen burns extremely fast and can ignite from very small leaks. Natural gas lines at low pressure may need devices designed for low flows rather than torch fittings. When you contact us, tell us the gas, the burner type and the line pressure, and we will confirm whether the standard second-series device is suitable or whether a different model is a better match. Where the burner is fixed, a wall-mounted unit with unions makes later replacement far easier.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Quality Control & Safety
  • machined components inspected before assembly;
  • sintered element and valve function checks;
  • leak testing and pressure integrity checks;
  • clear marking of gas, direction and maximum pressure.
Cylinders and accessories comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
