🛠️ Fitting & Care Notes
Fuel gases such as propane and butane are heavier than air, so leaks collect at floor level. Store cylinders upright in ventilated areas, away from ignition sources. A flashback device cannot make a leaking connection safe, so find and repair any leak before relighting, and never search for leaks with a naked flame.
Fuel gas devices need to match the gas they handle. Propane versions use brass bodies with sealing materials resistant to liquefied petroleum gas, while acetylene versions avoid copper-rich alloys. Hydrogen needs a different seal compound again. Always tell us the gas, the line pressure and the burner type when you request a quotation. If the burner is in a fixed installation, mounting the device in a vertical run allows condensate to drain away from the arrestor element. For portable torches, use the unit at the handle and keep a second one at the regulator. We provide guidance on mounting positions and on hoses approved for LPG.
