Check the flame arrestor visually for dents, damaged threads or soot residue. If a unit has been heated by a flashback, retire it rather than test and reuse. Fit new sealing washers during any hose replacement, and keep a stock of spares in case a unit needs urgent replacement on site, because working without protection is never an acceptable shortcut.
Typical working pressures for this series are up to 10 bar on the oxygen side and 1.5 bar on the acetylene side, with flow capacities suitable for torches up to a medium nozzle size. Connections are usually G 3/8 for regulator outlets, with a hose nipple on the other side. The sintered element is replaceable only at the factory, so any unit with reduced flow should be returned or discarded.
