Dry Ice Gas Cylinder — liquid CO₂ cylinders for making dry ice
A dry ice gas cylinder is in practice a steel cylinder of liquid CO₂ fitted with a siphon tube, which feeds liquid to a dry ice maker where expansion forms snow that is pressed into pellets.
The cylinder never contains solid dry ice itself, and REAL GAZ explains this clearly to avoid unsafe improvisation.

Cylinders are made to ISO 9809, EN 1964 and TPED requirements and fitted with EN ISO 10297 valves, suitable for industrial and food use.
Common sizes are 10, 20 and 40 litres with approximate net fills of 7.5, 15 and 30 kg of CO₂. A siphon cylinder is marked clearly, and the pressure at 20 °C is about 57 bar, so valves, hoses and fittings must be rated accordingly.
🏭 Where CO₂ Cylinders for Dry Ice Are Used
- ⚙️ Small dry ice makers — one or two cylinders feed countertop machines that press pellets on demand;
- 🔬 Snow horn systems — liquid CO₂ expands into snow that fills moulds for blocks;
- 🏥 Restaurants and bars — on-site production avoids frequent deliveries for fog and chilling;
- 🚀 Workshops — dry ice blasting units draw CO₂ for in-house pellet supply.
💡 Why Choose REAL GAZ
- ✅ Correct cylinder type — siphon models are matched to your equipment;
- 🧪 Pressure-tested — hydrostatic test dates are current on every cylinder;
- 🎯 Right purity — food grade or technical grade CO₂ as required;
- 🔒 Exchange service — empty cylinders are swapped without long downtime.
- 📄 Certificate of Analysis (CoA) — supplied with every order.
🔬 Quality Control & Safety
- valve and thread inspection;
- hydrostatic test date check;
- fill weight verification;
- leak testing of valve outlets.
Cylinders and packaging comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
⚙️ Trusted Gas Solutions
REAL GAZ delivers each dry ice gas cylinder with advice on safe connection, restraint and ventilation, serving customers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA.
Install cylinders upright and chained, with a rated high-pressure hose and a pressure gauge on the line. Because liquid CO₂ cools sharply on expansion, fittings can freeze if flow is too fast, and a leak in a small room can raise carbon dioxide levels dangerously. A fixed CO₂ detector is therefore good practice wherever cylinders are connected indoors.
If you are choosing between buying ready-made dry ice and producing it yourself, consider your volume. A cylinder of 30 kg liquid CO₂ yields only a fraction of that mass as dry ice, typically about a third, because most of the liquid flashes to gas during expansion. For occasional use, delivered pellets are often more economical, whereas heavy daily use justifies bulk tanks or cylinder banks. Our advisers can compare both options with you.
