The frame references DNV 2.7-1 and EN 12079, the manifold follows EN ISO 10297 valve practice and PED 2014/68/EU, and cylinders comply with ISO 9809.
Fitting the manifold inside the rack frame has several benefits. Pipework is protected from impacts by the frame uprights, and hoses are shorter because cylinder valves connect directly to the header with flexible pigtails. A single outlet valve with a clearly marked handle makes connection and isolation a quick task, even in poor weather or in gloves. If a cylinder valve leaks, the pigtail can be disconnected and the cylinder isolated while the others remain in service. The header is fitted with a pressure gauge and, on request, a relief valve, which protects the rack if a cylinder is overheated. At the end of a job the rack is disconnected, closed, inspected and sent ashore for refilling, with its paperwork updated so the next user can see the history.
