Compressed Air Gas Cylinder โ safe handling, storage and use
A compressed air gas cylinder from REAL GAZ is a pressure vessel that deserves correct handling, and we supply it with practical instructions as well as clean, dry air.
Following a few simple rules protects people, equipment and the stored gas.
Following a few simple rules protects people, equipment and the stored gas.
Cylinders are made to ISO 9809, marked under TPED, inspected in line with EN 1968, and handled according to ISO 11625 safe-handling guidance.
Before every use, glance at the cylinder: the body should be free of deep dents or corrosion, the valve should turn smoothly, and the label should be legible. Never use oil or grease on valves or regulators, since compressed air supports combustion and can ignite lubricants violently. Open the valve slowly, standing to one side of the regulator, and close it fully after use. Do not empty the cylinder completely; leaving a small residual pressure keeps moisture out. Cylinders approaching the end of their inspection interval are returned to us for re-testing. If you suspect a leak, ventilate the area and contact our support team. Staff who handle cylinders regularly benefit from short refresher briefings, and our team can run one at your site. A good routine includes wearing gloves and safety footwear, using the correct trolley and never carrying a cylinder by its valve or cap during transfer.
๐ญ Where Compressed Air Gas Cylinders Are Used
- โ๏ธ Securing the cylinder โ chain or strap it upright to a wall or trolley so that it cannot fall, and keep the valve cap on during transport;
- ๐ฌ Connecting a regulator โ use a regulator rated for the cylinder pressure, open the valve slowly and check joints with a leak-detection fluid;
- ๐ฅ Storing cylinders โ keep them in a ventilated, dry area away from heat and direct sun, and apart from flammable gases;
- ๐ Moving cylinders โ use a suitable trolley, never roll or drag them, and close the valve fully before relocating.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ Sound vessels โ seamless steel construction with documented test dates;
- ๐งช Clean air content โ dry air that protects regulators and downstream equipment;
- ๐ฏ Clear labelling โ identification of contents, pressure and hazards on every cylinder;
- ๐ Training support โ brief guidance for staff who are new to cylinder handling;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- visual inspection of body, neck and valve;
- verification of last hydrostatic test date;
- filling to the correct pressure for the temperature;
- leak testing before the cylinder is released.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards.
โ๏ธ Trusted Gas Solutions
Safe use begins with a properly prepared compressed air gas cylinder, and REAL GAZ provides it together with advice for customers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and the USA. For breathing applications, a separate certified grade to EN 12021 must be specified.
