Brass Oxygen Regulator โ traditional material, proven in oxygen service
A Brass Oxygen Regulator remains the standard choice for most oxygen duty because brass machines well, resists corrosion and is accepted in oxygen systems at normal pressures.
REAL GAZ supplies forged brass bodies, cleaned and tested.
REAL GAZ supplies forged brass bodies, cleaned and tested.
Brass components follow ISO 11114 compatibility guidance and EN ISO 2503, for workshop and site use.
๐ญ Where Brass Oxygen Regulators Are Used
- โ๏ธ Welding shops โ forged brass bodies withstand daily handling and repeated temperature changes;
- ๐ฌ Construction sites โ regulators tolerate rain, dust and rough transport in vans and on scaffolding;
- ๐ฅ Gas retailers โ brass units are easy to demonstrate and maintain for retail customers;
- ๐ Marine workshops โ brass resists humid conditions better than plain steel and keeps threads serviceable.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ Proven material โ a long record of use in oxygen equipment gives engineers confidence;

๐ฆ Fitting and Handling Notes
Brass regulators for oxygen must never be used on aggressive or corrosive gases such as ammonia mixtures. Inspect for dezincification marks, cracks and damaged gauge glass. Wipe the exterior with a clean dry cloth only.
Brass is well suited to oxygen at the normal cylinder pressures of around 200 bar, provided that the design avoids sharp internal edges, rubbing parts and non-metallic seats that are not rated for oxygen. Our regulators use seats and diaphragms chosen for oxygen compatibility, and the machined surfaces inside the body are cleaned to remove cutting oils and swarf. Chrome-plated finishes can also be supplied where a brighter, more wear-resistant surface is preferred. If you work with several gases, colour-coded labels and different thread directions help prevent connecting a regulator to the wrong cylinder. Our staff can also explain how often to inspect seats and gauges, which parts are cheap to replace, and when it is wiser to retire the whole regulator. Keep brass regulators out of ammonia-rich atmospheres, which can cause stress cracking.
