Cylinders are designed to ISO 9809-1, inspected in service under EN ISO 18119, and identified according to EN 1089-3.
Common capacities are 10, 20, 40 and 50 litres, with 200 bar working pressure. Wall thickness, valve guard and base are matched to the size for safe transport. The shoulder colour for argon is dark green under EN 1089-3. Cylinders must be stored upright, secured with chains or straps, and kept away from heat. Valves should be opened slowly with a suitable regulator attached.
A cylinder is a stored-energy device and should be treated with respect. Never drag or roll it, never lift it by the valve, and never use it without a regulator. Check the test stamp on the shoulder before accepting delivery; the date shows when the next hydrostatic test is due. If a valve leaks, move the cylinder outdoors to a safe area, close the valve if possible and contact REAL GAZ. Trained staff will collect and inspect the cylinder promptly. Colour, label and valve outlet should always be checked on receipt; any doubt about content should lead to the cylinder being set aside and reported.
