Argon for Welding and Industry โ dependable shielding gas from workshop to production line
Argon for Welding and Industry from REAL GAZ gives fabricators and plant operators one supplier for pure argon and argon-based shielding mixtures.
The same inert gas that protects a TIG weld also serves furnaces, casting and general purging jobs.
The same inert gas that protects a TIG weld also serves furnaces, casting and general purging jobs.
Welding grades conform to EN ISO 14175 classification (I1 for pure argon), with cylinder equipment built to EN 1964 and ISO 9809.
Pure argon (I1) is the standard for TIG welding of stainless steel, aluminium, copper and titanium, and it is used for MIG welding of aluminium. For carbon steel, mixtures with carbon dioxide or oxygen can be supplied from the same depot. Industrial customers also use argon for ladle stirring, vacuum degassing support and blanketing, where flow stability matters as much as purity.
Correct flow settings matter as much as gas quality. For TIG welding, 6 to 12 litres per minute is typical, depending on cup size and draughts, while MIG welding of aluminium may need 15 to 20 litres per minute. Too little flow lets air in; too much causes turbulence and wastes gas. Check hoses for leaks, use a gas lens for better coverage, and allow a short post-flow after the arc stops to protect the cooling weld. Our team can advise on set-up for each material and thickness. Packs and rental cylinders are available for shipyards and plants that weld daily, with refills scheduled around your shift pattern and project deadlines.
๐ญ Where Welding and Industrial Argon Is Used
- โ๏ธ TIG welding โ pure argon gives a stable arc and clean bead on stainless and light alloys;
- ๐ฌ MIG welding of aluminium โ argon prevents porosity and improves wetting at the joint;
- ๐ฅ Steel and foundry work โ argon stirring and shrouding limit oxidation in molten metal;
- ๐ Pipe back-purging โ root runs on stainless pipe stay free of sugaring when argon is purged behind the weld.
๐ก Why Choose REAL GAZ
- โ One supplier โ welding and industrial cylinders arrive on the same delivery;
- ๐งช Low moisture โ dry argon reduces hydrogen pick-up and porosity;
- ๐ฏ Cylinder choice โ single cylinders, packs and rental options suit job-shop and plant volumes;
- ๐ Advice on set-up โ flow rates, nozzle sizes and regulator choice are discussed before supply;
- ๐ Certificate of Analysis (CoA) โ supplied with every order.
๐ฌ Quality Control & Safety
- controlled purification and dew point testing;
- fill pressure verification for each cylinder;
- oxygen and moisture analysis at release;
- valve and fitting leak checks.
Cylinders comply with ADR / UN transport rules and relevant EN/ISO standards; always use flowmeter regulators rated for argon.
