Where floor space and cylinder handling are limited, a twin-tube unit halves the number of bottles to move and change. Each rotameter is read against a scale in litres per minute, so welders can set 12 l/min on one torch and 18 l/min on another without guesswork. The shared pressure stage keeps both tubes supplied evenly.
Design follows EN ISO 2503 principles for pressure stage and safety, with gas to EN ISO 14175, for production and training environments.
Care of a twin-tube unit is simple. Keep tube guards in place, avoid knocks that may crack the glass, and close both needle valves before changing a cylinder so the floats do not slam to the top. Operators should read each float from its upper edge or widest point, as marked on the scale, and note the flow in the welding record. If one outlet is not in use, close its needle valve fully rather than leaving gas to run.
