Excess-flow protection is sensitive to the downstream load, so the setting must suit the appliance. If the device closes unexpectedly, shut the cylinder valve, find the leak or fault and only then reset it. Do not bypass the device with a straight coupling, even temporarily, and ask a competent person to review the setting whenever an appliance is replaced.
Think of this product as a combination of a throttle and a protective valve. The throttle sets the desired flow for an appliance such as a burner ring or a heater. The safety function reacts if flow suddenly rises well above that value, as it would after a hose burst. In low-pressure LPG installations, this can prevent a serious release. The setting range, response flow and maximum pressure are shown in the datasheet we provide. Because every appliance has different demand, we suggest sending us the burner rating in kilowatts so that we can recommend the correct setting window and the right connection size.
