📦 Handling & Storage of Acetylene Cylinders
Before connecting a cylinder, check that the valve spindle turns freely, the outlet is clean and the regulator seal is intact. Never use a copper pipe, brass above 65 % copper or silver-containing fittings, because they can form explosive acetylides. Do not tap, drop or roll the cylinder, and keep the protective cap on whenever the cylinder is moved. If a cylinder is dented, shows signs of heating or leaks from the body, move people away, ventilate the area and call us immediately for collection.
